Blog Tag Game Thing

I can't believe I am doing this...

Instructions: Write 5 random facts about yourself, then list the names of 5 people whom you in turn infect.

1. I enjoy running my gas tank as close to empty as possible before filling it up again, often gambling on the hope that the "15 miles until next exit" exit actually has a gas station - even though the exit that I just passed clearly had several refueling options (my wife LOVES this game, as you might imagine - haha).

2. Even though it was originally created as some bizarre war-time military ration, I absolutely relish eating SPAM. I love everything about the experience, including having to peel the can open with a key, washing off the gelatinous goo coating from the meat-product, the sizzle when you press a thick slice against a hot frying pan, lovingly placing processed American cheese on each slice, sandwiching it between buttery wheat toast and especially artfully dressing it up with squiggles of Heinz ketchup (not that nasty "Tomato Catsup" stuff you get with your supermarket brand name on it - EW!!).

Incidentally, this love was one shared by my late and GREAT father-in-law, Lt. Colonel Alan Thompson (a giant among men). The last time I enjoyed fried SPAM it was from his spatula. Truthfully, I'm not sure I could get through cooking it again without crying.

3. A few days prior to my wedding, Dave Anderson, Drew Forster and others managed to walk me from the Camp Wonderland office to the shore of Lake Massapoag, then out on to the dock where they lovingly "laid hands" on me to pray for me and Beth. It only took a few seconds after closing my eyes before I was swimming in the Spirit. Up until a millisecond after I felt a firm shove on my shoulders, it had never for a moment occurred to me that their intentions were anything but pure and sincere. (I could do an entire post on my most gullible moments - believe it or not, this is not the worst example.)

4. I once had long hair. At the strong suggestion of Bandmaster Ron Waiksnoris (survival tip), I reluctantly cut it just prior to my limited one year tour of duty with the NYSB. Who knew they were so "clean-cut"?

5. My favorite college courses were Non-Euclidean Geometry, Real Analysis and Abstract Algebra.

Since I am generally the last person I know involved in this blog-o-sphere stuff, I will decline on allowing this to continue any further - most of you have already been "tagged" anyway.

I would encourage checking out the Pandora link in my link bar, especially if you have a broadband connection at work and are tired of your present iTunes shuffle.
